WWE Wrestling From 2000 to 2012

Lets see what was going on in the early 2000s with WWE. In 2001 WWF took over the WCW and their championships. Some of them were the wcw world heavyweight belt, the world tag team belt and the cruiser weight belt. Some of these belts were retired and others were kept. Then in 2002 the WWF was renamed the WWE due to some legal issues. In 2003 the WWE took over and aquired the ECW.  ECW lasted up until 2010 and Ezekiel Jackson was the last champion for the WCW brand and then it was closed.

In 2000 we saw Booker T become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He did lose the belt to Kevin Nash at the end of August. He did win the belt back a couple of weeks later at Fall Brawl with Kevin Nash is a steel cage match. Then he lost it again to Vince Russo. A short time later Vince Russo was speared out of the steel cage by Goldberg and a short time after that Vince Russo vacated the title. Booker T did win the title back for a third time.

In 2002 we were seeing Goldust trying to work as a tag team with Booker T, but unfortunately Goldust was constantly causing Booker T to lose matches. So this tag team did not last. We also saw Christian and Lance Storm work as a tag team called the Un-Americans. In 2003 to 2005 we saw a new group formed, which was made up of Ric Flair, Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista. This team though did start falling apart in 2004.

We also saw Rob Van Dam teaming with Booker T going up against Ric Flair  and Batista for the tag team championship. Booker T and Rob Van Dam defended the title for approximately a month. Later on around the end of March they lost the title to  Ric Flair and Batista. Some time in early 2004 we saw John Cena as the WWE Champion. Cena had won the title from the Big Show, this had happened at Wrestlemania XX. John Cena was always being portrayed as a fan favorite. Although there were always fans that seemed to boo him, while others cheered for him. That seems to still go on until this very day.

Other wrestlers that were going strong with popularity were Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit , Eddie Guerrero, William Regal and Mr Kennedy just to name a few. Chris Benoit held the heavyweight championship belt in 2004 . Later on in 2005 we lost a great champion when Eddie Guerrero suddenly passed away.  In fact the list of wrestlers that have passed away has become very long. Here is a link with a list of the deceased wrestlers http://www.thewrestlinggame.com/wrestl/news/list_of_deceased_wwe_wrestlers.asp .

In 2009 we saw John Morrison unfortunately lose his intercontinental title to Drew Mcintyre. Another wrestler that came into view was Kofi Kingston. Very colorful and a great high flier. He performed some moves that were unbelievable. Christian was also back in the scene wrestling again. Of course who could forget Rey Mysterio and his finishing move the 619. I love it when he comes down to the ring and gives out his mask to a child and also puts his head against other children with his mask on. We also saw Jeff Hardy and CM Punk battling it out all over the place. Jeff Hardys reign ended in a steel cage in 2009 with CM Punk. We also saw the Big Show and Chris Jericho wrestling in various matches. We also saw John Cena win the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge and the he won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton. There was also Triple H battling it out with Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. Triple H had brought Degeration X back for awhile.

So what was going on in 2010 with wrestling. In 2010 we saw Shawn Michaels and Brett Hart reconciling their past problems. Then at wrestlemania XXVI we saw Shawn Michaels retire after he lost to the undertaker. Then we saw the rock come back and started a strange feud with John Cena. CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio and Punk held on to the belt for 434 days. They came out with a new show full of rookies called NXT.  The winner of that season was none other than Wade Barret. At Wrestlemania 29 John Cena defeated the Rock and won the title back in a rematch.

Now we can move on to 2011. In August they started to have to wrestlers float between Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smack Down. We saw more of the new wrestlers on the scene. Now in 2012 we saw more matches involving Albert DelRio, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and CM Punk. There were also matches involving Mark Henry and matches involving Christian. On the funny side we saw Santino Marella pulling out his green cobra sock puppet giving wrestlers his cobra move. Kofi Kingston was still going strong with his high flying moves. Chris jericho had returned to the wwe with his jacket that lights up in the dark. Kane became an active wrestler in 2012. 2012 seemed to be a year about the Rock being the peoples champ. We also saw Lord Tensai otherwise known as Albert come back to the wwe. He later teamed up with Brotus Clay and started dancing in the ring. Finally we saw Brock Lesner back giving John Cena the F5 move.

Well that’s all I have to say about wrestling during the years from 2000 to 2012. Of course there were many more matches and other wrestlers I did not mention. I would just look on the internet and find whatever information you are looking for.
Thank You for reading and have a nice day.
